Aesthetic and medical pedicures: choosing suitable care
Foot care can include both aesthetic procedures and podology care. The choice depends on the condition of your skin and nails. We recommend first establishing which care is appropriate for you.
Aesthetic care
When skin and nails are healthy, an aesthetic pedicure helps maintain nail shape and a well-cared-for appearance. If a technician notices changes, they may recommend a podology consultation.
Medical pedicure
The appointment begins with an examination. We look at the nail plate, skin, corns, calluses, cracks and any areas of discomfort. We then recommend treatment and a home care routine.
Our centre uses a dry technique with powered instruments and suitable products, without soaking the feet beforehand. The extent of the procedure depends on your foot health and other health considerations.
Preparing instruments
Sterilisation matters in all professional care. Our instruments undergo disinfection, ultrasonic cleaning and autoclave sterilisation. The individual pouch is opened in front of the patient.
When to consult a podologist
Arrange an examination if a nail is ingrowing, painful or changing shape or colour, or if corns or cracks develop. Diabetes, reduced sensation and circulation problems call for an individual care plan.
Combining care and polish
Whether decorative polish is suitable depends on your nails and any current treatment. We explain which procedures are appropriate now and how to support both foot health and appearance over time.
